Crochet colorwork question

this49erknitter,
Hi all - I’m looking for tips from more experienced folks! I have done some intarsia crochet but it’s too tight at the colorwork section. Are there any tutorials/tips out there to help? I’ve done a lot of searching but I’m not finding anything helpful. For example, I made a graphghan with the color…

.. I started knitting a month ago and have just completed my very first item and I’m thrilled with them. A few people told me I was made doing socks on DPNs for a first project, but it was what I wanted to do so leapt in! I did about an hour’s practice on the DPNs before I started. The first sock’s cuf…

Weird Shape from Ball Winder

little-mage,
Any idea why my knit picks ball winder is making these weird orbit shapes instead of nice cakes? I thought at first it was because I was winding from a ball instead of my swift, but when I used the swift, that didn’t help. Last time I used it before this, it was fine.

Gauge Swatching

Driftdraft,
Hi, I am swatching for the Billie Pullover by Sari Nordland. I have done a swatch for moss stitch and another for the main cable pattern as the designer suggests but now I’m confused. I got 18 stitches instead of 20 for the moss stitch swatch and I got 24 stitches instead of 22 stitches for the mai…

I am so glad I have knitting

/u/fairydommother,
.. Having a rough time with my bank right now. I have a really hard time regulating negative emotions so I went from in a fairly good and relaxed to mood to absolutely livid, frustrated, and stressed out in the span of about 2 minutes. Spent a good half hour getting absolutely nowhere. And then…knittin…

My second ever blanket!

/u/AngelofGrace96,
.. I made a squares blanket out of this yarn years ago, but knitted it way too loose, and got sick of my fingers constantly going through the holes every time I picked it up. So about 2 months ago I frogged the whole thing and knit this blanket instead, yarn held twice together. It's so thick and heav…

Progress on my first knitting project!

/u/sqvvad,
.. I was warned by many to not take on socks as my very first project, but it was the whole reason I wanted to learn to knit! So, I figured why not jump right in? It’s taken me about a week to get to this point, but I’m learning SO much and I’m pretty proud of how it looks so far! 🤩Any feedback on thi…

How to fix a too big sweater

gemini77,
Help! Long story short, I started my knitting sweater, The Weekender, last year, took a break this summer, picked it back up and just finished it. I’ve since lost 25lbs and now it’s too big! I could literally remove a whole size from this! Is there anything I can do to save this/fix this? How do yo…

My first actual wearable sweater!

/u/themahaster,
.. Lots of mistakes, I wish I had enough yarn to have made it longer and I wish I went a size larger. But I love it so much :)

first sock!

/u/Baitung,
.. Singular because, well, I still need to make the other one 😅I'm finding these super fiddly (I'm using magic loop, and it feels like I spend 80% of my time moving stitches up and down), but I'm so proud of how they look now that they're done!!The socks will be for my ex's sister's newborn daughter! …

Cascade 220 comparisons & worsted natural fiber recommendations

taliesincrafts,
Hey everyone! 2nd paragraph if you want to skip the background. I’m looking to make a gorgeous cabled sweater in natural fibers, likely wool or alpaca, though I am also open to natural/synthetic blends. I want a balance of good stitch definition and non-itchiness/scratchiness, so I’m not really con…
