Fingerless gloves with watch slit. Help!

/u/Katejava97,
So I saw some running gloves on insta that had a slit so you can access your watch and despite being a newer knitter I naturally started thinking I could make that. I'm second sock syndrome on my first pair of fingerless gloves and I really like how the first one turned out. I would like to use thi…

Knitting is such a wonderful way to create beauty for my math brain

/u/Clear-Tale7275,
Growing up, I had a friend who could draw pictures that actually looked like what she was drawing. I have always envied people who could paint, sculpt and create beauty as if they had been given a gift I did not receive. My gift was my ability with math, which led me to a career in finance.Knitting…

Vuosaari socks

Shinysideup,
Vuosaari Socks Starting the heel and the pattern says leave needle 1 on hold, but then it says between the short rows you will knit one round with all of the stitches on the work. Calls for German short rows. Do I work the stitches in needle one in between short rows? So confused.

Knit my first sweater (technically)

/u/ungainlygay,
.. I decided on impulse to use some spare yarn from my temperature blanket to make a little sweater for my childhood teddy bear, and this was the result! Then I made him a little matching scarf. The pattern for the sweater was simple bear sweater by Anu Slorah on Ravelry. Since his arms are very skinn…

Anyone buy yarn off EBay?

luciamia,
I’m looking at the super bulku lopi called joklalopi. It is fairly difficult to find at a good price point so I decided to look and found quite a few seller in the US. Hmmm… I have asthma and smoke, mold and chemicals like Febreeze are serious triggers for me. Given that, what do you think?

Does anyone know how Lion Brand ships to Canada?

MsBarrows,
Was thinking of ordering some Lion Brand yarn directly from their site down in the US, and then thought about how, if it’s being shipped by mail, the current Canada Post strike means it probably wouldn’t arrive before the new year at soonest (and possibly much later depending on the length of the s…

Is the color change obvious?

/u/bunbloom,
.. Switched to a new skein of yarn about an inch from the live stitches. It's a dfferent dye lot where the dark spots are a bit darker than the previous yarn. Is this really noticable? Should I frog back and find a better match?

Is this a good book to learn how to knit beyond basic scarves?

/u/chizubeetpan,
.. Found this in my family’s library today. It’s never been used apparently (no one knits and no one knows who owns it). I’m learning to knit and while YouTube is a lifesaver I was wondering if learning to read patterns with this book is ok or is it too out of date (copyright is 1947)?Was reading one …
