Looking for constructive advice on my first knit project, socks!

/u/jg00408,
.. Hi! I really wanted to learn to knit and I picked socks as my first project because all the yarn was just so beautiful. I followed the “Favourite Socks” pattern by Kristin Lehrer as she has a great video up on YouTube for it.They’re a little loose but fit well overall, so I think I’ll make the same…

Overly ambitious gift knitting

/u/Significant-Ad-4904,
.. First time knitting a circular yoke sweater (with cables as well 🤦🏻‍♀️) and may have underestimated how long it would take... Planned as a Christmas present for my mum but at this rate I'll be lucky if it's done by Christmas 2025!

I had so much fun making this - and modeling it out

/u/Unimprester,
.. My first knit with steeking. Both the shoulders and the middle are steeked. I hand stitched the steeks before cutting and then ran them through a sewing machine with a zigzag stitch. The button band is knit seperately and stitched on, the band and the arms both were knit with facing to cover the ra…

How do you stay motivated through loooong rounds of tiny stockinette?

/u/ThrowRaAutisticPotat,
.. The yarn and needles are quite small, and I am very prone to straining my wrists and hands from doing too much. I started this project around Christmas last year and would like to reclaim those needles :'D(I am also using the magic loop technique, which kinda disturbs the flow a little)

Pattern suggestion learning to crochet

esje1969,
I’m a dutch knitter who wants to learn how to crochet. I’m looking for a project that teaches different techniques, learning to read a pattern step-by-step with video support. I’m somewhat impatient, like a challenge, so don’t just want to practice, but work on a usable project like a pillow cover …

Help me save these clown slippers *sad honk*

/u/emjuul,
.. I tried making slippers based off (these pattern instructions)[https://www.ravelry.com/projects/Tuua/nr-3-doble-tfler] and I have been so humbled. My hands are hot and raw from kneading this monstrosity in boiling water for 30 minutes. It would still only fit a hobbit. I am devastated. Is it at its…

Manchester Jacket question

gigiknit,
I started making this jacket & the pattern says: Shape waist: Dec row (RS) Dec 1 st each end of the needle. Ok that makes sense, this is my problem : Then it says Rep Dec row every 6th row? Does that mean I keep doing St st until I get the remaining stitches needed? Thanks.
