Folded brim on hat - RS/WS designs

CathyWeeks,
I’m working on hat design with a folded brim. The brim itself has design elements on it (cables in this case). The last time I designed a hat like this, here’s how I approached it: I knitted the brim normally. Then I worked 2 purl rounds to form a fold/break, then I turned the hat brim inside out, …

Bohemia on worsted steel

SusanEC1960,
My friend is looking for this wool for a pattern she has, but it appears to be discontinued. Does anyone know if it’s DK, 4ply or whatever? I’d like to help her source a substitute Thanks

I HAVE A COLLARED TUBE (sweater WIP update)

/u/adhddude2,
.. I plan to fold over the collar but I’m at my in-law’s house and forgot a tapestry needle (and I can NOT crochet loosely (my plan B) I tried multiple times 😂)All I need now is sleeves!! I’m so excited at how it’s shaping up oh my gods(Ignore the weird hole by the neck, that’s where I had to switch c…

I made an undercover busy blanket for a person with dementia

/u/AlfwynBenedict,
.. My grandmother has dementia, but she doesn't really know it and doesn't want most of the specialized stuff or therapies. She is always cold though and her affliction made her hands a bit restless. So I made her 'just a small blanket', and 'I wanted to try different techniques'. So it has several di…

cast off round folds to outside

slowandsteady,
I’m doing my first pair of fingertip-less gloves. I’m using sport weight yarn and US #3 needles. I’ve made the fingers long enough to just reach the bottom of my fingernails. Now I notice that my “standard” cast off (k2, pass 1st stitch over 2nd, repeat around) is folding to the outside of the roun…

I've been knitting sleeves wrong

/u/yarn_bread,
Everytime I knitted sleeves, I lifted up my entire project so the twist from knitting in the round would unwind itself. It's manageable, bu when I work on the second sleeve, it gets a bit clumsy. Today I just realised I could just turn my needles clockwise to get the twist out. 🤡 Much more efficien…

This took me 12 hours…

/u/chiccrochet,
.. I’ve never knitted anything before as far as a whole project…. I’m making a sweater now in panels and just little bit took 12hrs 🥹🤦🏾‍♀️. It’s okay though bc it’s fun. Also, am I feeling cocky or does it look pretty good?

I don't want to take them off.I'm sti having issues with fit. The last pair I made were way to tight so I did the maths and went up to w…

I thought I would share my haul as I just got home today after eight whole months!I tried to kinda structure the yarns according to where I bought them. Basically the route was Czech Republic - Poland - Lithuania - Lat…

Totally tubular?

CathyWeeks,
Ok, I just learned how to do a tubular cast on, the version where you CO with a provisional/scrap yarn. I’m amazed and kind of in love with it - that CO has some mysterious magic to it. First off, I HATE casting on when the project requires a large number of CO stitches - being able to CO half that…

Only rowing out on one side of raglan neckline section? 🥺

/u/crochetumimmak,
.. Hi everyone! I’m currently knitting the Amy Sweater by Petiteknit, and right now i’m doing the raglan increases + increases for neckline before very soon connecting the sides to knit in the round.I have no issues with rowing out on the back + shoulder sections, or on the right side of the neckline …

Modifying a crew neck that’s too high

sewin44,
Hello, I love the Felix cardigan and sweater pattern , but the one part I’m dissatisfied with is how high the front of the sweater sits in my neck. I like the construction, fit, and finished garment otherwise. Is there a tutorial somewhere specifically for using a staggered start method , or some o…

Skulls!

/u/FabuliciousFruitLoop,
.. I have so enjoyed the quirky, individualised, skilful Not Fast Fashion posts of the sub this week. Today I contribute my skulls vest as an addition to the vibe. Motif straight from Instagram signposted in comments.

Increase for sleeve Question

Wisknitcat,
Lyra Tee Hello all I’m doing the Lyra tee pattern. I just finished the increases for front and back and am now doing the increase for the sleeves. I just wanna make sure I am understanding this direction correctly. There are two sets of markers on either side of the round, (let’s call them Marker s…
